Project management is the application of skills, experience, knowledge, methods, and processes to achieve the objectives of a project. It is the body of knowledge regarding projects, i.e., planning, controlling, and reviewing. Project management also involves making sure you complete the project.
The purpose of a project management are as follows: Define project goals and objectives; Set guidelines and rules to be followed; Coordinate and control the many, complex activities of projects; Foresee or predict as many risk and problems that are imminent; Develop an action plan, organize, and control activities that are crucial in the completion of a project; Outline steps and quality plans to achieve the project goals; Determining the budget and time required for each of the daily plans, as well as the project as a whole; Provide a successful project despite the risk and problems.
While a project manager is a professional who plans and organizes resources and personnel. They must make sure they complete the project on time and within budget. They must also ensure that the project meets the requirements of the business. Project managers exist in all industries and every type of organization. They may be contractors, managers, employees, or independent consultants.
A project management is a method of initiating, plan, executing, and the application of knowledge, skills, tools and techniques to achieve specific goals and meet specific success criteria.
